Fairy Tail VS One Piece! Fire VS Fire! When two walking walls of flame meet in the ring, which one will be left standing?
So, Natsu VS Ace is the next DEATH BATTLE. Personally, was hoping this wouldn't happen, but I figured it was kinda ineiveitable that Natsu and Ace would meet in Death Battle. But whatever. Who do we think would win?
Backstory
Natsu
Many years ago, Natsu was born as a relatively normal child, with two relatively normal parents and a relatively normal older brother...until he and his parents were killed when a dragon attacked their village. The only survivor of the attack was Natsu's older brother Zeref. Zeref would begin to look into black magic and eventually managaed to bring Natsu back to life...but there was a catch. Natsu wasn't himself, but a demon known as E.N.D. (Etherious Natsu Dragneel) Natsu would then be taken in by the king of the fire dragons, (haha, what a coincidence?) Igneel. Igneel would teach Natsu such essential artforms as reading, writing, and lost magic. Natsu would go on to become a dragon slayer based on the teachings of Igneel. (haha, what a coincidence?) Igneel later decided, on an attempt to save the world, to seal his soul inside Natsu's body and sent him 400 years into the future, in hopes that Natsu would become powerful enough to defeat the mighty dragon Acnologia, who even Igneel was unable to beat. Natsu wasn't aware of this all, however. After finding himself 400 years in the future, he thought that Igneel had decided to abandon him, and he went on to try and find Igneel. He would then be taken into the Fairy Tail guild.
Ace
Portagas D. Ace was born to Portgas D. Rouge and the legendary king of pirates, Gol D. Roger. Ace had been kept for over a year and a half inside Rouge's stomach. This was because Roger's bloodline was being hunted down one-by-one by the World Government, and Ace would likely have been hunted down. Sadly, this crusade also included the execution of Roger. Ace would be born, but Rouge gave him his name and died shortly after. After 1 1/4 years after the death of Roger, Ace would be moved to South Blue, and then to East Blue, Foosha Village after being adopted by Monkey D. Garp, grandfather of Monkey D. Luffy. Ace and his new brother Luffy didn't get along at first, but they would eventually make up. They would also meet a boy who went by the name Sabo, and he and Ace decided to create a secret plan to kill Luffy, but their bond prevented them from going through with the plan. Eventually, Ace decided to leave and form a league of pirates known as the Spade Pirates. Everything worked out fine, until the Spade Pirates were defeated by the legendary Whitebeard. Ace would become Whitebeard's 2nd Division.
Abilities
Natsu
Fire Dragon Slayer Magic: A type of Caster Magic created by Irene Belserion and is used by the Dragon Slayers. Almost all of Natsu's abilities depend on this magic. This also gives him extreme sickness.
Fire Controlling: Natsu has the ability of being able to control and create fire on the fly whenever he needs it, And, his amount of fire is seemingly unlimited. His flames also increase or decrease in temperature based on his emotions and current amount of strength.
Fire Eating/Resistance: Natsu, due to his Fire Dragon Slayer Magic, is pretty much immune to almost any sort of natural fire, though he isn't absolutely immune completely. He also has the ability to swallow fire and just make himself even stronger from these flames. This also seemingly has the ability to make him keep on consuming flames without losing any air - if a normal human were able to consume flames, he would die of lack of oxygen. But not Natsu, it seems.
Fire Dragon's Roar: Natsu ceates a large amount of fire and launches it out from his mouth. He can also create walls of fire using this ability, somewhat like a human flamethrower.
Fire Dragon's Claw: Natsu's feet are surrouned in flames. The flames increase his feet's striking power as well as allow him to be propelled into the air.
Fire Dragon's Iron Fist: Natsu surrounds his fist in flames and throws a deadly punch.
Fire Dragon's Wing Attack: Natsu grabs his opponent and ignites his hands, not only burning the opponent but also sends them flying into the air.
Fire Dragon's Sword Horn: Natsu engulfs himself in fire and quickly headbutts his enemy.
Fire Dragon's Brilliant Flame: Natsu's fists are surrounded by flames. He then clashes them together. What happens next depends on whether it's the anime or the manga. In the manga, the clash creates a fiery explosion. In the anime, it creates a large ball of flames Natsu can then launch at his opponent.
Fire Dragon's Flame Elbow: Natsu's elbow launches out a stream of fire that propells him forward and increases the strength of his fists.
Fire Dragon's Crushing Fang: Natsu's hands are lit on fire and he claws at his enemy.
Fire Dragon's Grip Strike: Natsu grabs his opponent and blasts them with flames point blank.
Fire Dragon's Roasting Bath: Natsu's body is set ablaze, heating uo the enviorment.
Dragon God's Brilliant Flame: Natsu engulfs one of his hands in Fire Dragon Slayer Magic and the other in Fire God Slayer Magic and makes the two flames collide to craete a large destructive blast. This is an alternative version of the Fire Dragon's Brilliant Flame.
Dragon Slayer's Secret Art
Crimson Lotus: Fire Dragon's Fist: Natsu sets his hands ablaze and begins to send doezens of quick punches, each creating an explosion.
Crimson Lotus: Exploding Flame Blade: Natsu quickly circles his arms, craeting a huge and destructive path of fire. This is often used as Natsu's finishing move.
Modes
Lightning Fire Dragon Mode: A mode Natsu gained access to after consuming lightning from Laxus Dreyar. It;s basically the same as normal Natsu, but even more powerful due to having lightning charged and mixed into his attacks.
Black Fire Dragon Mode: A mode accessed after Natsu absorbed the flames of Dark Regulus. This mode is also a simple alternative and more destructive option to Natsu, but instead of electricity Natsu can combine his flames with the flames of Dark Regulus.

Along with an enhanced version of the Roar, Natsu can also use the Fire Dragon King's Demoltion Fist, where he charges his fist with so much flame that when he throws a punch after charging, it will break his foe into pieces no matter the size.
Dragon Force: Devouring Etherion or the Flame of Rebuke will allow Natsu access to Dragon Force, the final and most powerful upgrade to any Dragon Slayer. It is so powerful, the form is frequently compared to the power of a true dragon. Natsu is the first of his generation to enter Dragon Force mode without any external sort of flame or entity. It is comparable to dragons for a reason: it essentially turns Natsu into a human dragon, with reptillian scales and other traits. It also increaases power of physical attacks and magic spells. The Dragon Force's special attack is "Hidden Fire Form - Crimson Lotus: Phoenix Blade". This attack starts with Natsu setting himself ablaze and uppercutting his opponent into the air and then headbutting them. The attack is seemingly unstoppable, and the strongest spell in Natsu's arsenal.
E.N.D: Etherious magic was developed ino the body of Natsu in a tumor-like form, and hurt Natsu to the point of near-death. The tumor would be shrunken, saving Natsu's life, but the magic was triggered when Natsu thought that Lucy had been killed. This made E.N.D. taake control of him. E.N.D. is far more powerful than Natsu's base form. The flames of E.N.D. are black and far more deadly. They often take the form of claws around Natsu's hands, though Natsu has real claws underneath. He then throws the ball of flames at his target, creating a large fiery explosion. At it's most powerful, it could cover half an island. (Remember Tifa's Final Heaven? Think that, but with more fire.)
Haki: Haki is a special type of power everyone in the world has, but very few are able to use. Ace is one of these few, and also contains the rarest Haki of them all, Haosoku Haki, which allows Ace to knock his opponents unconcious by controlling their will.

Igneel's Scarf: A scarf given to Natsu by his former father Igneel. The scarf is supposed to grant the wearer luck and resistance against bad luck. It also protects him from black magic, but the dcarf will end up corrupted by said magic and will stop Natsu from healing his wounds until spells wear off.
Ace
Striker: Ace's raft that he uses for transportation. It's waterproof and can be powered or accelerated by his flames.
Weaknesses
Natsu
- Severe motion sickness. Even thinking about veichles makes him sick. If he is ever fighting on a moving animal or vehicle, he will be stopped in combat.
- Natsu's magic supply isn't unlimited. Once his supply is out, he can't use magic anymore. Adding onto that, his most powerful moves will take away large portions of his magic supply.
- Natsu can not eat his own flames, or special flames like flames of a god unless he is out of magic. These flames also harm him.
- Natsu isn't a very smart fighter. He usally fights without a strategy and rushes into battle without a plan.
- Lightning King Dragon Mode and Dragon Force exhaust Natsu. These modes lessen his stamina.
- Fire Dragon King Mode doesn't last forever. Once Igneel's power is out, he can't use this form any longer. Instead, he can use his own power to use a weaker form of the mode.
- Natsu takes the same amount of damage that E.N.D.'s Book of Zeref takes, if it takes damage. And yes, that means that if the book is destroyed, Natsu will die.
- Natsu is forever tied to Zeref, as Zeref is the one who reserrected Natsu in the first place. If Zeref ever dies, Natsu will as well.
Ace
- Ace has intelligence in battle, more so than Luffy, but he still is not too smart.
- Is very much weak against Seastone.
- Can't go into water otherwise his powers will go somewhat "out", and he will be completely immobile when half his body is submerged.
- Ace will sometimes fall asleep completely randomly.
- Ace and Magma definitely do not mix too well.

Well, pretty much everybody here has taken their hand at trying to explain whether or not Natsu can beat Ace. Me? I gotta agree with Animegx. But I won't even try to explain his reasoning. So, instead, I'm gonna discuss each and every category and explain who wins in each.
Strength - This one isn't too big a contest. Natsu's greatest feats of strength were lifting 3 tons worth of wood and one-punching a mansion Saitama style. But Ace was able to kick down a tree roughly 3 tons as a child, and you're kidding yourself if you think he hasn't gotten any stronger since then. And Ace was able to keep up with Blackbeard, who can destroy an island. Natsu's attacks have more range, but in the strength department that's the closest he's gonna get to a victory. Oh, and the meteor feat Erza did that Natsu likely scales to? Iffy as hell. The winner of Strength is Ace,
Speed - This one requires some research, but once the research is done this is even more one-sided than Strength. Natsu can dodge and react to lightning, while Ace is fasther than Luffy's 2nd Gear form, which is capable of dodging lasers. Lightning typically travels 220,000,000 miles per hour. In contrast, lasers move at, rounded to the nearest tenth, 195,991.8. Oh dear, that's a huge downgrade, wouldn't you say? And running speed? Due to the fact Ace has no running speed in sight, besides the 2nd Gear Luffy feat, we can assume Natsu takes it as well. The winner of Speed is Natsu.
Durability - The distinguishment between "Durability" and "Endurance" can't be stressed enough here. Durability? No contest. Natsu has survived things Ace has...er, had, ever taken in his life, like taking a bullet in his mouth with ease and sending back an attack that took up a stadium, the Holy Nova. But endurance? Ace takes it. Natsu can fight for a few days? That's cute. Not only did Ace fight Jinpei for 5 days straight, he then fought Whitebeard (who's Country Level) shortly after. That's what we in the field call endurance, my friends. So, with Natsu taking durability and Ace taking Endurance, this category is a tie.
Intelligence - Do I even have to say anthing? The winner of Intelligence is Ace.
Experience - This one isn't that one-sided, but super clear-cut. Ace had been training for a while but Natsu has been part of the Guild for good 7 years. Add on the fact that Natsu is still alive (Rest in Peace, Ace) and you've got the result down. The winner of Experience is Natsu.
Agility - Again, not that one-sided but very clear. Natsu is agile, sure, but Ace can jump multiple large ships! The winner of Agility is Ace.
So that's four for Ace, and 3 for Natsu. Now we get into specifics, because the categories won't matter if the one with fewer categories can make it to the top with those categories. But, so far, we at least we see this is a lot closer than dumb YouTube commenters say. For one, Natsu has lightning charged in his attacks, while Ace doesn't. According to WindPoweringEngeneering's article on volts per lightning bolt and the magic of conversion and calculation, we know a lightning bolt dishes out 2,700,000 watts of electricity. Using more conversion, and rounding to the nearest tenth once again, we can find that the one bolt of lightning delivers 275,323.4 kilogram meters of force per second. So can Ace tank that much force in Natsu's attacks, plus the fire and force of the punch? Well, this is going to make that calc completely unnecessary, but who cares anyway. Ace's greatest feat of durability is taking hits from Whitebeard. Whitebeard has consumed teh Gura Gura no Mi, which emits strong shockwaves, so it wouldn't be the first time Ace has taken blows like these. So yeah, I'd say Ace likely has it in him.
And yeah, Natsu may have superior versatility due to 4 different powerful forms on his side. But like Zoro brutally proved to Erza last season (and how McDuck proved to Shovel Knight, and...uh, well, this happens a lot in Death Battle) just because ypu have more doesn't mean you win. And the intelligence of Natsu is very bad for him as well. Ace can very easily use this to his advantage as well as keeping control over the battlefield far better than Natsu would in any situation where they clash. And while Natsu can hit Ace likely and can probably resist Haki, it still wouldn't give him the victory.
Everybody was thinking this would be the day Fairy Tail gets it's revenge, but from my eyes, no. Mera Mera, on the wall, who burns hotter than them all? Oh wait, I already explained who. I know that pun sucked, but it's better than "Natsu won't come out in One Piece", right?

Intelligence - Do I even have to say anthing? The winner of Intelligence is Ace.
Experience - This one isn't that one-sided, but super clear-cut. Ace had been training for a while but Natsu has been part of the Guild for good 7 years. Add on the fact that Natsu is still alive (Rest in Peace, Ace) and you've got the result down. The winner of Experience is Natsu.
Agility - Again, not that one-sided but very clear. Natsu is agile, sure, but Ace can jump multiple large ships! The winner of Agility is Ace.
So that's four for Ace, and 3 for Natsu. Now we get into specifics, because the categories won't matter if the one with fewer categories can make it to the top with those categories. But, so far, we at least we see this is a lot closer than dumb YouTube commenters say. For one, Natsu has lightning charged in his attacks, while Ace doesn't. According to WindPoweringEngeneering's article on volts per lightning bolt and the magic of conversion and calculation, we know a lightning bolt dishes out 2,700,000 watts of electricity. Using more conversion, and rounding to the nearest tenth once again, we can find that the one bolt of lightning delivers 275,323.4 kilogram meters of force per second. So can Ace tank that much force in Natsu's attacks, plus the fire and force of the punch? Well, this is going to make that calc completely unnecessary, but who cares anyway. Ace's greatest feat of durability is taking hits from Whitebeard. Whitebeard has consumed teh Gura Gura no Mi, which emits strong shockwaves, so it wouldn't be the first time Ace has taken blows like these. So yeah, I'd say Ace likely has it in him.
And yeah, Natsu may have superior versatility due to 4 different powerful forms on his side. But like Zoro brutally proved to Erza last season (and how McDuck proved to Shovel Knight, and...uh, well, this happens a lot in Death Battle) just because ypu have more doesn't mean you win. And the intelligence of Natsu is very bad for him as well. Ace can very easily use this to his advantage as well as keeping control over the battlefield far better than Natsu would in any situation where they clash. And while Natsu can hit Ace likely and can probably resist Haki, it still wouldn't give him the victory.
Everybody was thinking this would be the day Fairy Tail gets it's revenge, but from my eyes, no. Mera Mera, on the wall, who burns hotter than them all? Oh wait, I already explained who. I know that pun sucked, but it's better than "Natsu won't come out in One Piece", right?
But whatever. The winner is Portgas D. Ace.

There's really no way I see Natsu losing this fight, at all tbh.
Even if I try to say that Natsu and Ace are even in speed and DC (which honestly depends on how you scale and which calculation of Erza's meteor feat you believe since there is MULTIPLE of them), no doubt Natsu trumps Ace in physical strength. Most of Ace's best DC feats come from his flames, not really from his physical strength. Basically what I'm saying is, without fire, Natsu shows more feats of physical strength (which are better overall) compared to Ace. Also, if you do accept the high end feats for those Erza calcs and believe Natsu scales then Natsu has a pretty comfortable speed and DC advantage over Ace (sub-rela and country bro)
While both Ace and Natsu should not be too affected by each other's flames (via Natsu's fire consumption and Ace's fire body), only Natsu has abilities that are not fire based. Lightning!
Now most people just give this to Natsu because he can eat Ace's fire body (which he totally can depending on the circumstances), however let us assume he can't. Let's say Ace moves faster than Natsu can eat, does this mean Natsu has no way of killing Ace?
Even if Natsu can't eat Ace's fire body, he can still attack it. Remember how Natsu was able to get on top of and grab Atlas Flame, a dragon composed of fire and was capable of resisting and non physical attacks similar to Ace? Yeah
All in all, due to his superior strength, ability to harm Ace's fire body, lightning, transformations that increase the gap in physical strength even further, and the fact that he can convert Ace's fire body into magic only eaten, it looks like Natsu will actually get a Fairy Tail ending.

Ahhh, now THIS is a death battle. One of my favorite kinds, in which no one can really agree on who would win, right up there with one like Hulk vs Doomsday or even Mega Man vs Astro Boy. I love it. But I've managed to make my choice.
The fire stuff wil be the bulk and the biggest factors, so let's get everything else out of the way first.
Natsu is pretty strong, bending iron, punching a guy who's basically made of iron, and lifting what I've calculated to be nearly 3 tons of...you guessed it. Wood. As a quick reference, here ya go: http://imgur.com/6nKGJnd
While it's hard to find actual feats for Ace, what little he has done have goes much farther than what Natsu has done. A simple arm wrestling context with Luffy proved Ace was equal to his younger brother who, in what would've been less than a month, went on to lift a 300 ton ball of gold, at bare minimum. Now it is safe to assusme Luffy got stronger during that short time period, even if we lowball it and say Luffy was half as strong when he tested fists with Ace, that's still a massive difference in strength since.
In fact, when Ace was only 10, he cut down a tree roughly worth the wood we saw Natsu lift with a single kick. (http://imgur.com/cr8WMP1) TIMBER!!! And that was roughly 10 years before his prime.
In addition, while Natsu has been a great team player for Fairy Tail, one of the most famed guilds, Ace's superior intellect and experience has made him one of the leaders of the Whitebeard Pirates, one of the biggest threats to the World Government.
But that's all small patatoes, isn't it? What you all want to know is this: How does Natsu's Fire Dragon Slayer magic work off of Ace's flame-flame fruit? THIS is the million dollar question. Even the destructive potential of both fruits seem moot, as both have enough of an outpoot to cloak an island. Time for the fun to begin.
As you know, Ace's body is able to turn into fire upon will, or when taking a hit, allowing him to ignore any damage, as how logia devil fruit works. This weaknesses can be bypass outside the One Piece universe if hit by an element that can counter the user's own. In this case, elements would include water, ice, and lava since it's superior to fire. Natsu has his own fire and even lightning magic, but neither one is an element that can actually neutralize Ace's devil fruit.
Now Natsu HAS been able to physically hold, grab, or otherwise touch fire like it was a solid object. While this would mean Natsu would have a way to grab Ace when he becomes fire, that still wouldn't give him a way to physically harm Ace. Fire isn't actually a solid object that you can break after all.
And now the biggest question: Can Natsu eat Ace? The answer is...kind of. This alone has 2 major parts, both of which are important since this WILL have an effect on the fight.
1. Infinite Fire vs Natsu's stomach: Just like with all other logia devil fruits, the amount of fire Ace can create from his body has no actual limit, and it doesn't actually drain any stamina. And much like all typical anime protagonists, Natsu's appetite is hard to sate. While it's hard to say if there's a limit to how much fire he can eat, what I do know is that there's a limit to how much he can actually swallow.
During Natsu's fight with Atlas Flame, a fire dragon who had a fire covering his entire body, Natsu's strategy was a predictable one: Eat him. He spent a good amount of time swallowing the never-ending flow of fire coming the dragon, becoming more of an annoyance than an actual threat. In the end, Natsu stopped eating and no harm at all was caused to Atlas. As the amount of fire Ace can produce is potentially limitless, Natsu wouldn't fair any better against him.
2. When fire meets: Now both Natsu and Ace have control of all fire they themselves make. Also, whenever Natsu eats a source of fire, any special properties that fire has is kept as Natsu uses it for himself. It's the good ol' Mirror Force tactic of using your enemy's power against them. But really consider this: What would happen if Natsu actually allows his fire to be mixed together with Ace's?
The answer is actually quite brutal. With a literal piece of Ace inside of Natsu's body, and all mixed together with Natsu's attacks, Ace would in turn be able to control all of that fire since it's now a part of Natsu's, and unlike the first time around, Natsu wouldn't be able to re-eat it all. This is an inevitable outcome since Natsu thinks with...well, as we discussed with his fight with Atlas Flame, he doesn't think that much. This would be a detail Ace would no doubt exploit as he's actually quite intelligent.
Overall, Natsu's Dragon Slayer magic, ironically enough, feeds into Ace's devil fruit powers much more than the other way around, creating a back-and-forth of fire that eventually comes to Ace's favor as Natsu eating his opponent is in fact the worst thing he can and would certainly do. And as Ace already holds his own in strength and strategy as well, the rest of the fight is fairly clear-cut.
This was a long one for me to write down, and just like Natsu, I'm burnt out. And so, The winner is Portgas D. Ace.

I'd like to thank Knuckles for allowing me to join this.
This fight is a rare case where the combatants' destructive power is unimportant. Both have destroyed mountains and islands, but both used fire to achieve these feats, which is an ineffective weapon in this battle due to their mutual immunity to the element. Ace stands to have a significant strength and speed advantage due to his ability to match the likes of Blackbeard and his brother, Luffy. He also has more stamina, as he was able to fight for 5 days continously without slowing down whatsoever, where as Natsu has never fought longer than 1 day, as well as a hand-to-hand ski advantage due to his formal training with Garp, where as Natsu is self-taught. However, Natsu is tougher due to being bulletproof where as Ace hasn't shown to be, has access to other elements like lightning to use in his attacks, and is not far behind in the strength department.
Now to address the 2 elephants in the room.
1) Can Natsu eat Ace?
In theory, there is no reason he shouldn't be able to. Ace has never been established to be a divine flame, or any other kind that Natsu has been shown incapable of eating. However, due to his speed advantage and the fact he can choose whether his body is composed of fire or not, it is unlikely Natsu could pull it off in practice. Even if Ace tired to the point where he has trouble creating fire, his body should naturally be stuck in its normal state rather than trapping him in its fiery form. Natsu could start eating Ace, but Ace could just push himself away, reform what fire he lost, and solidify his body. Natsu can eat part of Ace to replenish his power, but it's unlikely for him to successfully and completely eat Ace.
2) Can Natsu hit Ace?
Yes. Even if Ace is transformed into fire to bypass physical attacks, Natsu has shown on repeated occasion that he can physically touch and interact with fire, even without the use of magic. This is most notably seen in his encounter with Atlas Flame, a dragon entirely composed of hellfire, that Natsu was able to clutch onto and continuously eat. Even though Natsu lacks Armament Haki, he should still be able to hit and hurt Ace due to his interactions with the likes of Atlas Flame.
For a smaller elephant, can Natsu's flames hurt Ace like the Magu Magu Devil Fruit did? Probably not. Though Natsu's fire is undoubtedly hotter than Ace's, as it has evaporated lakes extremely quickly and melted steel, it is specifically stated that the Mera Mera and Magu Magu Devil Fruit are of the same class, but Magu Magu was just stronger. It is more likely the elemental differences between Ace's fire and magma that let the Magu Magu hurt him.
With both of their easy-way-out gimmicks out of the way, who wins? Neither is known for being incredibly witty, but Ace is consistently smarter on the battlefield than Natsu's headfirst rushdown strategy. However, Natsu has had moments of surprising insight that surpass Ace's tactical ability such as when he beat Sting and Rogus at the same time by memorizing their fighting patterns and beating both in hand-to-hand, even if they are few and far between. Both may be immune to fire, but only Natsu can eat fire and use them to replenish his stamina while boosting his power when attacked by Ace. This means that as the fight continues, Ace will be gradually tiring himself while Natsu is only growing stronger and constantly fighting at peak power. It doesn't help that Natsu has super forms like Fire Dragon King or Dragon Force that boost Natsu's physical stats drastically. Ace starts off strong, but Natsu's constantly rising power and overwhelming tenacity just make it a harder victory for Ace the longer they fight. Ace can't really overload Natsu with fire either, as he's never shown any form of limit to how much fire he can eat. Even if he does have a theoretical limit, it's one Ace cannot hit with his fiery powers.
"But what if Ace just stops using his Devil Fruit powers and fight Natsu with his superior stats?" Well, it's certainly a closer fight for him. Even in an endurance match, Ace can fight for longer periods of time and has better strength, speed, and hand-to-hand skill. However, Natsu still grows stronger the angrier he becomes, as rage strengthens him like eating fire does, albeit without replenishing his stamina. On top of that, Natsu still has stat-boosting super forms that let him match and surpass Ace's strength and speed, one of which is his Lightning Flame Dragon Mode, which gives hin access to lighting magic. Ace in physical form is only immune to fire, so this means that Natsu could undoubtedly enhance his attacks with lightning and attack Ace if he remains tangible. While Ace is a better strategist, it's not by a massive margin, and it's not enough for him to lead Natsu into any form of complex trap.
Even Ace's Conqueror's Haki isn't making any difference in this fight. While it lets him instantly knock out weak-willed foes, Ace very rarely uses this ability, and hasn't developed it to the level of Whitebeard or Shanks. Add on the fact that Natsu is insanely strong-willed, and he'll resist Ace's Conqueror's Haki with no issue.
In the end, either Ace keeps using his fruit in hopes of overloading Natsu's fire-eating abilities and just constantly strengthen the Dragon Slayer, or the Fire Fist stops using his fire and is ultimately overwhelmed by Natsu's increasing power and magical lightning. It's a tough fight, but in the end the Salamander eats the Fire Fist for breakfast.
I declare the winner Natsu Dragneel, the Salamander.

This matchup was very difficult to call for me.
Ace to me seems to be stronger and tougher, due to fighting Blackbeard, who destroyed islands. And Natsu seems to be faster and more versatile, due to having more abilities and running through 100,000 men without any of them noticing. Natsu has more experience due to being around longer(RIP Ace), but Ace has more destructive capacity, due to the aforementioned Blackbeard thing. Natsu COULD eat Ace but Ace has intangibility to get past all of Natsu's abilities. Ace has better H2H, but Natsu is no slouch either. And both of their fire abilities are completely useless. You can tell where this was hard for me.
This ultimately came down to 2 questions.
Question 1.) Can Natsu keep up with Ace's superior hand-to-hand? Because of how close of a category that is, I'll say yes.
Question 2.) Can Natsu hold Ace down long enough to eat him completely. This one was tougher. Natsu once fought a dragon with similar fire powers to Ace, he was able to eat him for a bit, but was shrugged off. Ace is DEFINITELY strong enough to shake him off, but even if he wasn't, he could turn to fire and zoom away. The issue I see there is that Ace isn't exactly the sharpest tool in the shed. I don't know if he'd think to actually do that, but it's possible. What makes me say yes is that while Natsu is eating Ace slowly, he's getting WAY more powerful. Ace needs to shake him off quick enough to keep Natsu from doing it.
If Ace can keep Natsu from eating him long enough, then eventually Natsu will tire out, and Natsu will tire out before Ace, due to Ace once fighting non-stop for 5 whole days, then he wins. But if he gets devoured, then maybe he won't die(that's debatable), but he'll turn into fire energy for Natsu, making it a BFR tactic, and Natsu wins. And DEATH BATTLE! has had BFR endings before(Starscream VS Rainbow Dash, Thor VS Raiden, and MAYBE Kratos VS Spawn) so it's possible.
With all of this said, plus the alternate forms Natsu has that I didn't even mention, I'm going to give this fiery battle to the Dragon Slayer.

At first, both seem to be equal in DC and Durability. However Natsu is faster. Ace is like Mach 271, Natsu's over Mach 1382. So he's 5 times faster. And Natsu can eat Ace's fire and become stronger than Ace. Both should be immune to fire but Natsu will become so stronger, he doesn't even need the fire to win. And Natsu has a lot of forms. So IMO Natsu wins.

I'm just gonna say it's a pleasure to be working on my first prediction blog. That said, I don't know much about either character, so any information I bring up will be primarily from DB bios. I've never watched either series and I have no bias. Moving on, this is much closer than what a lot of people make it out to be. Still, in my opinion, it's a bit stompish. Ace is definitely no slouch. I do think Ace is more level-headed than Natsu. And Natsu's weakness of motion sickness might come into play? But in the end, I believe Natsu will be the victor of this battle.
For starters, Natsu's fire burns much hotter than Ace's. Ace's Entei is nearly the size of an island, but Natsu's flames are much more intense. I mean, look at this insanity! (http://imgur.com/a/lfyGA)I don't think Ace can compare.
Next, Natsu EATS FIRE. Neither Natsu or Ace can hurt each other with fire, but Natsu's the only one who gets stronger from it. Considering how much Ace implements fire in his arsenal, that's gonna be a problem.
I also believe Natsu is physically superior to Ace. His feats of strength, speed and durability seem to outmatch Ace's own. With hand to hand, Ace has an advantage. But Natsu comes very close. And even though Natsu does have better durability, Ace's stamina far surpasses his. But counting in his other forms, which drastically increase his magic and physical attributes, Ace stands little chance at that point. Even if they aren't factored in for some bizarre reason, Natsu still outclasses Ace physically.
Though, Ace's haki might be able to do Natsu in. However, with Natsu's willpower and loyalty to his friends, I'm not sure Ace can do it. Even with Ace turning into fire, Natsu still would prove too much.
Also, I need to mention Natsu's super senses. If those come into play.
In the end, Ace would put up a good fight, but Natsu outclasses him in strength, firepower, DC, speed, durability and feats.

1. To be able to bypass a Logia, either by haki, seastone, exploiting the element itself, fast sneak attacks. The way that Natsu can be able to touch Ace's flame body is that because Natsu can touch and hold fire like a physical object: 'http://www3.mangafreak.net/Read1_Fairy_Tail_495_19#gohere'. That could be a way to exploit Ace's fire logia weakness, regarding how Natsu landed on a pure flaming dragon Atlas Flame, who can also become intangible fire since a breath attack passed through him. Natsu is quite fast himself, but he becomes more faster in Dragon Force, Lightning Flame Dragon Mode or Fire Dragon King Mode. Knowing now that Natsu can enter Dragon Force at his own will now, Natsu's speed in Dragon Force is to the point where he speedblitz Jellal's speedy Meteor. Which means that Natsu can be fast enough to pull a sneak attack that can hurt Ace, especially when using Crimson Lotus: Phoenix Blade. If one piece fans don't accept that, then on Fairy Tail terms, Natsu is able to exploiting the weak points of his opponents attacks and abilities, even knowing the timing of attacking. He may know the timing of Ace phasing and reforming, which will give Natsu the right time to strike him. This was shown when Natsu read both Sting and Rogue's attacks and defeated them even though both were in Dragon Force.
2. Natsu can also eat fire to regain his energy and magic power, making him stronger. Since Ace's fire attacks are huge, that can't hurt Natsu but rather greatly increase Natsu's magic and strength, making him greatly stronger. Some say that "If Natsu eats Ace, Ace will reform and explode Natsu from the inside". No, rubbish, that would be against the Death Battle rules because that is unknown information and it is stated that logia users become the element. On the contrary, it is only known that the fire Natsu eats converts into magic power and/or enhance his abilities. Also, it would be impossible for Ace to reform since Natsu's Dragon Slayer Magic makes him powerful as a Dragon, I mean he was taught by the Fire Dragon King, Igneel. If Igneel has eaten Ace, would Ace try to reform and explode Igneel? No.
3. For scientific terms and physics, Natsu's fire is more hotter and stronger than Ace's fire. Chapter 446, Natsu has vaporized a huge amount of sand, which would make his flames burn at least 3000 degrees celsius. Natsu's flames are even strong enough to incinerate Zeref's death magic, at least in Fire Dragon King Mode or Dragon Force (Chapter 531). My prediction is that Stronger Fire (Natsu) > Weaker Fire (Ace). Also, in terms of Natsu's powerful spells like, Fire Dragon's Iron Fist, Fire Dragon's Roar, Fire Dragon's Brilliant Flame, Crimson Lotus: Exploding Flame Blade, Fire Dragon King's Demolition Fist or Fire Dragon King's Roar can produce such explosive effects that will blow Ace back by recoil effects, hurting him. Lightning Flame Dragon Mode could be able to hurt Ace, since Ace's fire has to be at least hotter than a candle flame that would produce ions for electricity to conduct through it.
Oh, and if people are stating from a fan question and saying "Oda stated eating a Logia user will have the Logia user taken over from the inside", they're misreading the question and answer. That fan question is only regards to the Ice-Ice fruit not all Logia Fruits. Whether it's possible to make an ice dessert out of the Logia user. Of course, in one piece, you can eat ice normally, but they can't eat fire. Natsu's case is different, regardless of what fire he eats, it always becomes his power to control. And Natsu's will is strong enough not to let anyone control his fire magic. I don't think death battle would take information from fan questions.
In addition, Natsu has superior senses of smell and hearing. So he may know where Ace will attack next. Regarding Lightning Flame Dragon Mode, Lightning is also scientifically claimed to be 5 times hotter than the sun.
So overall what Ace has is the Flame-Flame Fruit that allow to control and become fire, which Natsu could counter since he eats fire. Even if Ace turns into fire, he's still technically generating fire so Natsu could eat some of Ace's fire if Ace tries to form into fire. Comparing both characters fighting skills, Natsu has many different abilities ,besides using fire, I see him use a lot more Hand to Hand combat than Ace does. Natsu can pull out situations to do something in almost impossible standards. Ace however relies on flames more than using hand to hand combat. Ace may have conquerer haki, but he doesn't seem to use it besides at young age. Also conquerer haki wouldn't work on Natsu because Natsu has always shown high willpower.
Again, my winner is Natsu Dragneel.

Natsu stomps, really. Like there's no way around it.
Even when tossing weird feats around, Natsu is a more experienced brawler, has more options to mess with, and can always just eat Ace easily, ending the battle there. Natsu's scaling and advantages of being a main character is higher than Ace being more of a side character.
Natsu just eats all of Ace's attacks,
Gets stronger with each blow,
Gets faster with each blow,
Transitions into a variety of higher tier Super Forms,
Can hold Ace even if he attempts to escape,
Can totally eat Ace's fire, seeing as he eats different forms of fire all the time,
And will rapidly wear down Ace until he can't even fight anymore, and becomes exhausted. And if he even if Ace tried to flip around, and avoid in fire mode, Natsu can grab fire and hold it like it's nothing.
You could even argue that Ace could control fire inside Natsu once he eats it, but...
No, that's not it at all. Natsu digests the fire almost instantaneously, so there's no like, negative repercussions from that. So ye, that's my bet.
The winner is most certainly Natsu Dragneel.
